Windows 10 is the latest offering of operating system which is being used by millions in full bloom. The latest version of Windows brought back some features like the Start Menu which came as a relief and upped the game with some added enhancements and functions for faster working.

Hey Cortana

Cortana is a cool new addition to Windows which helps streamline the system’s search option. However, Cortana doesn’t behave like Siri on the iPhone but you could achieve that functionality by tweaking around.  After opening Cortana by clicking the Search field, select the Notebook icon on the left side of the options pane. Here you can juggle various settings and enable the setting which allows Cortana to respond when you say “Hey Cortana.”

This way, you can give Cortana access to various data and help Cortana produce better results as you can speak orders through a working microphone. However, the search result accuracy is directly proportional to how much Cortana knows about you.

Language Search

Once you’ve tweaked this feature, Cortana can now become your personal butler of sorts to whom you can issue easy, simple commands and she’ll catch on to give you results you need. You can easily ask Cortana to play your favourite music playlist as well as ask for weather updates. You can ask Cortana to display latest flipkart coupons and shop till your heart drops. You can further play around and ask her to even “show you images from March” and it’ll accordingly streamline the search results by applying necessary filters to give you results. You’ll be quite pleased with Cortana’s ability.

Manage Mail Better

Working on Mail is now super-fast and extremely efficient thanks to the latest Mail and Calender apps that are offered in Windows 10 which totally beat Windows 8 with a stick. You can customize the preview pan by selecting the image and picture of your choice and you can also play around with settings as to how you want Mail to respond at various swipe gestures.

In order to get access to the gesture options, click the cog icon and select Options and you’re all set to make Mail obey your commands!

Toggle between Virtual Desktops

Virtual desktops help a lot of order on an otherwise chaotic home screen as you can easily separate apps into their own areas and make many virtual versions of your desktop. You can either use Alt + Tab to juggle around various desktops or you can just move them around to suit your requirement. Just move to the desktop which holds the app you’d like to shift and open the Task View interface. After this, all you need to do is click and hold the app you’d like to move around and drag it to the desktop displayed at the lower end of the screen. You can easily add a new desktop too if needed. Schedule Restarts

You can select the “restart time” and you can further boost it up by asking Windows to send you a notification to schedule your next reboot.
